Life
Life is Change, Growth is Optional.
People who say that life is not worthwhile are really saying that they themselves have no personal goals which are worthwhile...Get yourself a goal worth working for. Better still, get yourself a project...Always have something ahead of you to "look forward to" — to work for and hope for.
My wife, a nurse, says that when we are hooked to a heart monitor we don’t want to see a straight line. It’s the ups and downs that mean we’re alive. In the same way, our highs and lows are evidence that we are living, learning, and growing emotionally.
Ask God for guidance and then hang on for the Ride!
One of the illusions of life is that the present hour is not the critical, decisive hour. Write it on your heart that every day is the best day of the year. He only is rich who owns the day, and no one owns the day who allows it to be invaded with worry, fret and anxiety. Finish every day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense. This day is all that is good and fair. It is too dear, with its hopes and invitations, to waste a moment on yesterdays.
Life is not about finding yourself—it’s about creating yourself.
It isn't as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don't worry. I say that to myself every morning. It will all work out. If you do your best, it will all work out. Put your trust in God and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us. He will not forsake us . . . if we will put our trust in Him, if we will pray to Him, if we will live worthy of His blessings, He will hear our prayers.
Life is a coin. You can spend it any way you wish, but you can spend it only once.
Progressing through life is like running a marathon . . . [It] requires a good start and a strong, consistent effort all of the way to the finish. (Ensign, November 1989)
There are two ways to look at life. One is that nothing is a miracle, and the other is that everything is a miracle.
Only you can do it, but you can’t do it alone.
Be glad of life because it gives you the chance to love and to work and to play and to look at the stars.
The only things we regret in life are the risks we don't take.
Anyone that imagines that bliss is normal is going to waste a lot of time running around shouting that he's been robbed. The fact is that most putts don't drop, most beef is tough, most children grow up to be just people, most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration, most jobs are more often dull than otherwise. Life is like an old time journey ... delays, side tracks, smoke, dust, cinders and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas, and thrilling bursts of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride.
Things will work out, keep trying, be believing, be happy, don’t get discouraged, things will work out.
Now, if you want the land to become more blessed, if you want to enjoy in greater abundance the good things of the earth, do better, be more righteous, be more honest before the Lord, honor His laws and keep His commandments more faithfully than you have done in the past, and the Lord will pour out more and greater blessings.
God left the world unfinished; the pictures unpainted, the songs unsung, and the problems unsolved, that man might know the joys of creation. |
