Happiness
Those who bring sunshine to the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves.
Many persons have a wrong idea of what constitutes happiness. It is not attained through self-gratification, but through fidelity to a worthy purpose.
Happiness doesn't depend on outward conditions. It depends on inner conditions. It isn't what you have or who you are or where you are or what you are doing that makes you happy or unhappy. It is what you think about it.
Happiness is a by product of making someone else happy.
Most folks are as happy as they make up their minds to be.
Happiness consists not of having, but of being; not of possessing, but of enjoying. It is the warm glow of a heart at peace with itself.
Being happy doesn't mean everything's perfect. It means you've decided to see beyond the imperfections.
I am asking that we stop seeking out the storms and enjoy fully the sunlight. I am suggesting that as we go through life we “accentuate the positive.” I am asking that we look a little deeper for the good, that we still the voices of insult and sarcasm, that we more generously compliment virtue and effort…Growth comes of correction. Strength comes with repentance…I have little doubt that many of us are troubled with fears concerning ourselves…There are occasionally hard days for each of us. Do not despair. Do not give up. Look for the sunlight through the clouds. Opportunities will eventually open up to you.
Happiness is neither within us; nor without us; it is the union of ourselves with God. |
